Recently, the Girl Scouts of Lawrence County organized an engaging twilight camp that provided young girls with the chance to acquire essential outdoor skills. Participants learned valuable techniques such as fire starting, knot tying, knife safety, and first aid. In addition to these practical skills, the camp also emphasized enjoyment through various games and songs.
The theme for this year’s camp was “Tune into Tennessee,” which guided the daily activities and learning experiences. Each day, the girls delved into the rich history of Tennessee, explored the local heritage of Lawrence County, and discovered the storied past of the Girl Scouts organization itself.
This enriching event not only fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among the participants but also allowed them to work towards earning their Bugs badge and Musician Badge, enhancing their skills and knowledge in a fun and interactive environment.
