In the early hours of Saturday, Florence police responded to a residence on South Orleans Street following reports of a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, they encountered James Limon causing a disturbance outside the home. Despite their attempts to take him into custody, Limon resisted arrest, leading to a physical altercation. During the scuffle, one officer was struck in the face and bitten on the arm, resulting in broken skin.
James Limon, a Florence resident, was subsequently arrested on charges including assault in the second degree, domestic violence in the third degree, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. He is currently held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on an $8,000 bond.
The officer injured in the altercation was promptly transported to North Alabama Medical Center for medical attention. Following treatment, the officer was discharged from the hospital.
