In a recent ceremony, Gary Wayne Hyde, the Director of Solid Waste for Lawrence County, along with his team, honored local resident Shawn Litchfield for his outstanding commitment to maintaining a clean environment in his community. Over the past two years, Litchfield has dedicated his time and effort to picking up litter along a two-mile stretch of East Edan Road. His tireless work has resulted in the collection of approximately one hundred bags of trash that had been carelessly discarded along this roadway. This initiative not only highlights Litchfield’s dedication but also serves as an inspiring example for others in the community to take action in preserving their surroundings.
