Loretto Board Implements New Regulations on Signage

The Loretto Board of Aldermen has taken a significant step in regulating off-premises advertising signs within the city by passing a new ordinance. This legislation establishes specific dimensions for such signs, mandating that they cannot exceed five feet in width and must be limited to a height of five feet at their highest point.

In addition to these restrictions, the ordinance outlines penalties for non-compliance. A civil penalty of $50 will be imposed for violations, along with any associated court costs. Furthermore, it is important to note that each day a violation persists will be treated as a distinct offense, potentially leading to cumulative penalties for ongoing infractions. This move reflects the city’s commitment to maintaining a visually appealing environment while managing advertising within its jurisdiction.
