Major Jerry F. Holt, Retired, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, in Columbia, Tennessee. Born on October 13, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee, Jerry lived a life marked by service, faith, and a profound love for his family and country.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era, retiring with honor and distinction. He was a man of intelligence and wisdom, holding a Bachelor’s degree and believing in the power of education and lifelong learning.
A devout Christian, Jerry was a dedicated member of Deerfield Baptist Church, finding strength and community there. He was known for his diverse interests, including baseball, woodworking, tinkering, and coin collecting, all of which spoke to his appreciation for history and his love for the simple pleasures of life.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Buna Anderson Holt; his son, Steven Holt; his grandsons, Jacob, Jared, and Joshua Holt; and his great-grandchildren, Josiah, Ainsely, and Rhett Holt, alongside several devoted nieces and nephews.
His life was a testament to the values he held dear: hard work, commitment, and kindness. Major Jerry F.
