Mary Elizabeth Clayton, age 90, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at NHC Healthcare of Lawrenceburg. Mary was a loving and dedicated woman who cherished her family and had a passion for cooking and sewing. She was a native of Winter Haven, FL, and had a deep love for the beach.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas and Lonie Muriel Crawford King, her husband, Ralph Clayton, her daughter, Lisa Chapman, and sons-in-law, Jimmy Clifton and James Chapman. She also mourned the loss of two great-grandchildren, Dylan Osborn and Destinee Skaggs.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Renee Huckaby (Chuck) of Fulton, IL, Sandy Osborn (Danny) of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Diane Clifton of Lawrenceburg, TN. She is also survived by her sister, Geneva Elliott of Winter Haven, FL, six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on the same day, with interment to follow at Bumpas Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
Mary Elizabeth Clayton will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Mary’s memory.
