Mary Hemmen Olive, age 90, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025. Born on March 7, 1935, to William H. Hemmen and Annie Beyke Hemmen, Mary’s life was characterized by deep faith, selfless service, and enduring love for her family.
Mary married R. C. Olive on December 25, 1951, and together they shared fifty-one joyful years of marriage until his passing. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother, centering her life on her faith and her family.
She is survived by her children, DeWayne (Lynn) Olive and Mary LaVonne Olive; her grandchildren, Richard Clayton Olive (Rachel) and Mary Elizabeth Olive Kuderna (Josh); and her great-granddaughters, Valerie Quinn Olive and Riley Olive Kuderna. Mary is also survived by her cherished sister-in-law, Velma Hines Hemmen, who was a lifelong friend and beloved member of the family.
Mary’s legacy of kindness, gratitude, and unwavering belief in the promises of the Lord lives on through her family. She lived a full and meaningful life, always giving thanks for God’s blessings and dedicating herself to the service of others. Mary eagerly anticipated the Second Coming of Christ – and now, she is joyfully born into the “land of the living.”
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the Shiloh Church of Christ Cemetery in Green Hill, Alabama. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
