Mary Katherine McGee, age 95, of Nashville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at her residence. Mary was a retired cosmetologist and a former member of First Street Church of Christ in Lawrenceburg, TN. She was a current member of Woodland Hills Church of Christ in Nashville, TN, and a member of the Good Sam Club. Mary enjoyed writing poetry and hosting singing in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Kelsey Moore, Sr. and Jerrie Roxie Shaffer Shelby Moore; her husband, Charles Forrest “C.F.” McGee; her brother, Elmer Kelsey “Sonny” Moore, Jr.; her sister, Jewell Alene Smith; and her aunt and uncle who raised her, Newton and Emma Bailey.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Charles Danny McGee (Kathleen) of Nashville, TN, and Chipper Newton McGee (Karen) of Murfreesboro, TN; her six grandchildren, David McGee (Rose), Kent McGee, Katie Moody (Brent), Corey McGee (Stacey), Steven McGee (Stephanie), and Sean McGee (Caroline); her eighteen great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Jerrie Moore; one niece; and four nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 1, 2025, with Drew Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
Mary will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. May she rest in peace.
