The Maury County Office of Emergency Management has provided an update on the ongoing recovery efforts following the severe storms that struck on May 8th. Reports indicate that a total of 245 homes in Maury County have suffered damage as a result of the storms.
As of Sunday night at 6 PM, the pass system that was in place has been discontinued. However, law enforcement will maintain a strong presence in the affected area to ensure public safety. Residents are advised to remain vigilant against suspicious activities, potential scammers, and unlicensed contractors who may take advantage of the situation.
Starting today, Maury County Highway crews will commence the collection of environmental debris to aid in the cleanup process. Maury County schools will remain closed today, and a hotline (615-488-1875) has been established for those in need of assistance with cleanup efforts.
