Maury County Woman Faces Murder Charges in Death of 22-Month-Old Child

A woman from Maury County is facing multiple charges following the tragic death of her 22-month-old son. Kaedyn Ward, aged 21, has been charged with First Degree Murder, as well as Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect, and Child Abuse and Neglect (If Violent). Additionally, she faces another count of Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect. This case is linked to the earlier arrest of 20-year-old Damarian Treman Waters, who was taken into custody on October 19 for similar charges of Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect.

The investigation began when authorities responded to a distress call and found the child unresponsive. He was quickly transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his severe injuries. Witnesses indicated that the injuries were sustained while the child was under the care of Waters. It was revealed that there were two separate incidents of abuse, one occurring in July and another in October, both of which resulted in significant harm to the young boy.

As the investigation progressed, additional evidence emerged implicating Ward in the case. Currently, she is being held at the Maury County Jail, with her bond set at an alarming $750,000. The community is left grappling with the heartbreaking circumstances surrounding this incident.
