In the latest report from Center Point Fire and Rescue, the statistics for the month of May have been unveiled, showcasing a busy period for the team. Throughout the month, they were called to action on a total of 9 occasions, responding to a variety of emergencies.
Among the incidents attended to were 3 vehicle accidents, 2 structural fires, and a tragic drowning. Additionally, the team played a crucial role in providing assistance for storm damage in Maury and Giles Counties. The dedication of the volunteers was evident as they collectively contributed over 30 hours towards responding to these calls for help.
In addition to their emergency response efforts, the volunteers also invested 40 man-hours into organizing a fundraiser to support their operations. Furthermore, members of the team participated in a comprehensive 4-hour county-wide training session focused on grain bin rescue techniques, enhancing their skill set for future operations.
Despite their commendable efforts, Center Point Fire and Rescue is currently facing a shortage of volunteers. Those interested in joining the team are encouraged to attend their monthly meetings, held on the first Monday of every month at 6:30. The commitment and service of these volunteers play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the community they serve.
