Nation Observes Day of Prayer

In Lawrence County, a National Day of Prayer service is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 2nd. The event will commence at 11 AM at the flagpole located on the east side of the Lawrence County Courthouse. Various pastors and individuals will come together to offer prayers for our federal, state, and local government officials, as well as for our families, businesses, schools, churches, and military.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May. Established in 1952, this day was officially recognized by President Harry S. Truman through legislation. It serves as a time for communities to unite in prayer and reflection for the well-being of the nation and its diverse institutions.
