The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has officially opened the newly completed interchange at the junction of Interstate 65 and June Lake Boulevard in Spring Hill. In a recent press release, TDOT announced that the roadway was opened to the public on Friday night, marking the completion of the project. The construction efforts, led by TDOT in collaboration with Bell and Associates Construction, focused on creating a diverging diamond interchange and extending June Lake Blvd from Buckner Lane to Lewisburg Pike.
TDOT anticipates that approximately 17,000 vehicles will pass through the new interchange on a daily basis within the first year of its operation. Looking ahead, this number is expected to grow significantly, with projections indicating a traffic volume of 44,000 daily trips over the next two decades. The successful realization of this infrastructure project was facilitated in part by a $25 million BUILD grant awarded to the City of Spring Hill by the Federal Highway Administration.
The completion of the interchange at Interstate 65 and June Lake Boulevard represents a significant milestone in enhancing transportation efficiency and connectivity in the Spring Hill area. The new interchange is poised to accommodate the growing traffic demands of the region and improve overall accessibility for residents and commuters alike.
