On the evening of Wednesday, October 23rd, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, a collaborative initiative will take place involving the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO), the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), and the Nolensville Police Department. This event, known as “Crosswalk Talk,” aims to enhance awareness and mitigate the number of pedestrian accidents in the area.
The primary focus of the “Crosswalk Talk” initiative is to engage with pedestrians who opt not to utilize designated crosswalks. Law enforcement officials will conduct interviews to understand the reasons behind this choice. This interaction will also serve as an educational platform, where the THSO will provide vital information regarding pedestrian traffic regulations and share essential safety tips with the community.
In conjunction with these efforts, officers from the THP and WCSO will be actively monitoring key locations, specifically the intersection of Rocky Fork Road and York Road, as well as school zones surrounding Nolensville Elementary School and Mill Creek Middle School. Their objective is to enforce traffic laws rigorously, targeting violations such as speeding and distracted driving, all in an effort to ensure the safety of pedestrians in these busy areas.
