The Shelbyville Police Department has confirmed that the remains discovered along Old Nashville Dirt Road belong to 16-year-old Maria Lucas Gaspar, who had been reported missing. Maria was last seen at her home on Bridlewood Drive on June 29th around 3:00 PM. Authorities are seeking assistance from the public; anyone who interacted with Maria on or after June 29th, or who possesses any relevant information, is encouraged to reach out to Detective Brandi Merlo at the Shelbyville Police Department by calling 931-684-5811.
