Results of the 2024 Election

The results of the 2024 Election have been officially announced, revealing that Donald Trump has emerged victorious, becoming the 47th President of the United States. The election took place on Tuesday, November 5th, and Trump garnered 51% of the national vote, successfully defeating Kamala Harris, who received 47.5%. In Lawrence County, the support for Trump was particularly strong, with an impressive 84% of voters casting their ballots in his favor, while Harris managed to secure only 15%.

In local elections, Darryl Watson has been elected to Seat 4 on the Lawrenceburg City Commission, achieving a significant victory with 2,243 votes compared to Aaron Story’s 1,248. Additionally, Shannon Hurst Watson claimed the District 9 School Board seat, which was left vacant following the resignation of Niki Hartsfield. Watson received 1,293 votes, while her opponent, Robin Cobb, received a mere 75 votes.

Other notable races included Scott Dejarlais, who received 14,108 votes to secure his position as the Congressman for the 4th District, and Page Walley, who ran unopposed for State Senator, receiving 13,838 votes. In the contest for the 70th District Tennessee House seat, Clay Doggett triumphed in Lawrence County with 8,346 votes, while Kip Capley won the 71st District with 7,386 votes. Jamie Sevier also received 2,735 complimentary votes for Seat 3 on the Lawrenceburg Commission.

In the United States Senate race, Marsha Blackburn achieved a remarkable 82% of the vote, while Tharon Chandler managed to secure 343 votes. In the Ethridge City Commission race, Dallas Luna emerged victorious with 127 votes, defeating Robin Cobb, who received 75 votes.
