In a celebration of musical talent, the 2024 Song Contest, hosted by the VIP Songwriters Hall of Fame Museum in Lexington, AL, recently revealed its winners. Among the standout performers was Darrell Glover from Lawrenceburg, who clinched first place in the Folk Music category and secured second place in the Country Category. Adding to the roster of winners was Alice Estes from Summertown, who claimed second place in the Gospel Music category. Hohenwald’s own Liz Tanner McClain took home the prestigious award for Gospel Song of the Year.
The awards ceremony was graced by the presence of radio and television personality Kim Terry Glover, who, alongside her husband Darrell Glover, holds ownership of the esteemed museum. The event not only recognized the exceptional talents of these individuals but also highlighted the rich tapestry of musical diversity present in the region.
