Rogersville Volunteer Fire Department Contributes Fire Truck to Community

The Yerkwood Volunteer Fire Department, located in Walker County, has recently been gifted a 1974 Mack fire engine by the Rogersville Volunteer Fire Department. This donation comes after the Rogersville department acquired a new fire engine, rendering the 1974 Mack available for use as a reserve vehicle. In their efforts to find a suitable recipient for the truck, the firefighters from Rogersville reached out to various departments across the state to assess their needs.

In Walker County, the Yerkwood Volunteer Fire Department was identified as a department in need, as they were operating with only one fire engine available for service. This donation marks the second occasion on which the Rogersville firefighters have extended their support to other fire departments in Alabama by providing much-needed equipment. The transfer of the Mack fire engine not only enhances the capabilities of the Yerkwood department but also underscores the spirit of cooperation and assistance among fire service organizations in the region.
