Ronald Venoy Pettus

Ronald Venoy Pettus, 78, of Lexington AL, passed away on April 7, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Ronnie was a devoted member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church and a retired 50-year member of the Operating Engineers Local #320. He was also a member of Lexington Masonic Lodge #613. Ronnie had a passion for cars, particularly his 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, which he purchased brand new and still owned. He enjoyed working and trading cars of all kinds, and was known for frequently coming home in a different vehicle than the one he left in.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his wife Brenda Greenhill Pettus, his parents Arvel and Mamie Dee Pettus, his sister Susan Hanson, his brother-in-law Harold Berry, and his beloved dog Sadie Pearl.

He is survived by his children Leann Pettus Breckenridge (David) and Richie Pettus (Beth), as well as his grandchildren Colby Breckenridge (Grace), Allie Pettus (Brayden), and Ella Grace Pettus (Nic). He is also survived by his sister Gail Berry, brother-in-law Quinton Hanson, special cousin Jane McCain, nephews Todd Berry (Sandy), Paul Hanson (Amanda), Will Hanson (Meg), and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 12pm-2pm at Greenhill Funeral Home, with the funeral following at 2 pm, officiated by Jason Vinson. Burial will take place at the Pettus Cemetery.

Ronnie will be remembered by his family and friends, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
