Samuel Flood

Samuel Flood, 79, of south central Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, at Ascension St. Thomas hospital in Nashville, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manteca, California in 1946, Sam served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the late 60s. He had a successful career as an engineer in the chemical and nuclear power industries, working in various locations around the country and the world until his retirement.

Sam was a devoted husband to Kathleen, a proud father to Tommy, Cheryl, Cathe, and Cameron, a cherished grandfather, and a beloved great-grandfather. He was known for his kindness and willingness to help others, his love for cooking and gardening, and his passion for music, dancing, and the outdoors. Sam had a special bond with his Shih Tzu, Tucker, and was known for his performances as “old Elvis” impersonator called The Silver King.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sister, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and son.

The family would like to thank the care team at St. Thomas for their compassionate support during Sam’s final days. Services will be private, and in honor of Sam’s memory, the family encourages others to share a big meal with loved ones, play Elvis songs, adopt a dog, plant a rose, or help a neighbor in need.

Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements for Samuel Flood.
