On the evening of July 29, 2025, around 10:00 PM, law enforcement officials from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the scene of a shooting near Self’s Market, located along Highway 64. Upon their arrival, deputies, along with emergency medical services (EMS), encountered a male individual who had sustained injuries from a shotgun blast.
Emergency medical personnel promptly administered care to the victim before he was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center via Lifeflight. Currently, the condition of the shooting victim is classified as critical but stable, indicating that while he is in a serious state, he is receiving the necessary medical attention.
In the course of their investigation, deputies successfully identified a second male individual believed to be responsible for the shooting. An arrest has been made in connection with this incident; however, authorities have indicated that the investigation remains active and ongoing as they continue to gather further details.
