Last night, at approximately 8:10 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received an urgent 911 call reporting a shooting in the 100 block of Murphy Lane, located in Triana, Alabama. In response to the call, multiple units from both the Huntsville Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Upon their arrival, they found 37-year-old Trayvon Deshawn Harris suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Emergency medical personnel from Huntsville Emergency Medical Services (HEMSI) promptly transported Harris to Huntsville Hospital for urgent medical care. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival at the hospital.
In the wake of this tragic incident, crime scene investigators and detectives from the Sheriff’s Major Crimes unit have begun the process of collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses to piece together the events that led to the shooting. At this time, authorities have not released additional details regarding the suspect or the circumstances of the incident. They have indicated that further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
