Andy Augustin is set to share insights into the history of the Augustin family at the upcoming Lawrence County Genealogical Society meeting on Saturday, March 16th. The event will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Old Jail Museum located on Waterloo St.
The story of the Augustin family traces back to Paul Ignatius Augustin, Andy’s great-great-grandfather, who was born in Bavaria in 1823. In 1826, he made the journey to the United States, initially residing in Wisconsin. It was in 1853 that he tied the knot with Anna Margaret Vondron.
Upon relocating to Tennessee, the couple first established themselves in Giles County, where Paul managed the Montrose Vineyard. Eventually, they moved to the vicinity near Blue Water Creek close to Loretto.
The Lawrence County Genealogical Society extends a warm invitation to all interested individuals to attend this informative session. The meeting is open to the public, offering a chance for everyone to delve into the rich history of the Augustin family.
