Stanley Don Fleming, age 75, of Decatur, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Emory Hospital in Decatur, Georgia after a brief illness. He was a native of Lawrence Co, TN and a retired Director of Federal Highway Administrations. Stanley was a member of Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, a 1968 graduate of Loretto High School, and a graduate of MTSU. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with Rev. Daniel Steiner officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Loretto Memorial Chapel with a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM.
Survivors include his sister, Charlotte Fleming Fowler (Ken) of St. Joseph, TN, godson Curt Abercrombie of Florence, AL, and nephews Ethan Fowler (Arianna) and Seth Fowler, both of St. Joseph, TN.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, William Hollis and Iva Jean Smith Fleming. Pallbearers will be Ethan Fowler, Seth Fowler, Gary Fleming, Tim Davis, Steve Davis, and Sammy Smith. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital. Stanley will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
