State Representative Kip Capley Urges Local Residents to Make the Most of Tennessee’s Upcoming Sales Tax Holiday

State Representative Kip Capley, a Republican from Summertown, is urging residents to take full advantage of Tennessee’s forthcoming sales tax holiday. This annual event, which allows for tax-free shopping, is scheduled to take place from Friday, July 26, through Sunday, July 28. During this period, shoppers can purchase eligible items such as clothing and shoes priced at $100 or less, school supplies and art materials under $100, as well as computers and tablets that cost no more than $1,500.

Capley expressed his views on the economic situation, stating, “The federal government has failed Americans economically, but our state’s strong fiscal conservatism has put us in a position to provide much-deserved relief to Tennesseans.” He encouraged all residents of District 71 to seize this opportunity to save money and prepare for the upcoming school year.

In recent legislative sessions, Republicans have enacted significant tax cuts, totaling $800 million during the 113th General Assembly. Additionally, they allocated $1.5 billion in refunds for qualifying business owners. Since 2012, the Republican majority in Tennessee has delivered a remarkable $4.3 billion in tax relief to its citizens.

Tennessee is notable for its lack of a personal income tax and is frequently recognized as one of the most fiscally responsible and lowest-taxed states in the country. For those seeking more details about the sales tax holiday, further information can be found at http://www.tntaxholiday.com/.
