State SkillsUSA Competition Sees Impressive Student Achievements

Last week, students from Lawrence County, Loretto, and Summertown High Schools showcased their skills at the state SkillsUSA competition in Chattanooga, achieving remarkable success. The event saw a diverse range of competitions, with students from various schools participating.

Among the standout performers were the students from Lawrence County, who excelled in multiple categories. They clinched top honors, including gold medals in masonry, automotive maintenance, additive manufacturing, welding, and cabinetry. These victories have earned them the opportunity to advance to the national competition scheduled to take place in Atlanta this coming June.

The students’ achievements not only reflect their dedication and hard work but also highlight the exceptional talent present within the schools’ vocational programs. The success at the state level has set a high standard for the upcoming national competition, where these students will have the chance to further demonstrate their skills on a larger stage.
