In January, Tennessee saw a rise in unemployment rates, with 93 out of 95 counties reporting an increase. The surge in joblessness was attributed to the conclusion of holiday employment opportunities as the new year began. Across the state, 86 counties had unemployment rates below 5%, while the remaining nine counties had rates below 10%. This trend highlighted the impact of seasonal work on the labor market and underscored the challenges faced by many residents in finding stable employment beyond the holiday season.
