STRHS–Pulaski to Suspend Labor and Delivery Services Starting December 11

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System–Pulaski has announced a temporary suspension of its labor and delivery services, starting Thursday, December 11. This decision comes in light of the recent departure of the hospital’s last full-time obstetrician earlier this year, coupled with ongoing difficulties in recruiting new medical staff. While expectant mothers will still have access to prenatal and postnatal care within the local community, all deliveries will now be redirected to STRHS–Lawrenceburg.

Despite this change, Pulaski will continue to provide care through its full-time obstetrician, Dr. Sara Bush, along with certified nurse midwife LeAnn Gordon, who will remain available to assist patients in the area. The hospital has assured the community that all other services will remain unaffected by this temporary pause. CEO Jason Fugleberg stated that the hospital is actively exploring innovative care models and seeking ways to enhance women’s health services throughout the region. He emphasized STRHS–Pulaski’s commitment to serving the community and ensuring that patients are kept informed during this transition period.
