Summertown Utility District Board of Commissioners Invites Nominations to Fill Open Position

The Summertown Utility District Board of Commissioners has issued a public announcement regarding an open position on its board. At this time, the board is actively seeking nominations to fill the vacancy. It is important to note that only current, active customers of the Summertown Utility District (SUD) are eligible to nominate candidates for this role. All nominations must be submitted in writing.

To qualify for the position of Commissioner, individuals must meet several criteria. They need to be at least eighteen years of age, a current and active customer of SUD, and willing to take the Oath of Office. Additionally, nominees must complete a mandatory twelve hours of Commissioner training within one year of their appointment and commit to attending monthly board meetings.

Current SUD customers have the option to nominate themselves for the position. Written nominations must be submitted by 4:30 PM on Friday, March 14th, at the Summertown Utility District headquarters, which is located at 104 Shady Street in Summertown, Tennessee. Once the nomination period closes, a list of candidates will be compiled and forwarded to the Lawrence County Executive for review. The term for the selected candidate will extend until May 31st, 2028.
