Summertown Utility District Invites Nominations for New Board Member Position

The Summertown Utility District Board of Commissioners has issued a public announcement regarding an open position on its board. At present, there is a vacancy that needs to be filled, and the board is now accepting nominations for potential candidates. It is important to note that only current, active customers of the Summertown Utility District (SUD) are eligible to nominate individuals for this role.

All nominations must be submitted in writing. To qualify as a Commissioner, a nominee must meet several criteria: they must be at least eighteen years of age, a current and active customer of SUD, and willing to take the Oath of Office. Additionally, the nominee must complete a mandatory twelve hours of Commissioner training within one year of their appointment and commit to attending monthly board meetings.

Current SUD customers have the option to nominate themselves for this position. Nominations must be received by 4:30 PM on Friday, March 14th, and should be directed to the Summertown Utility District headquarters, located at 104 Shady Street in Summertown, Tennessee. Following the nomination period, a list of candidates will be compiled and forwarded to the Lawrence County Executive for further consideration. The term for the selected candidate will extend until May 31st, 2028.
