Suspect Identified in Athens, Alabama Hit-and-Run Incident

In a recent development concerning a hit-and-run incident in Athens, authorities have successfully identified and apprehended a suspect. The Athens Police Department has arrested Bethany Jade Gray, who is believed to be the driver involved in the collision with a pedestrian that occurred on Tuesday evening. Following her arrest, Gray was taken to the Limestone County Jail, where she is being held on a bond set at $5,000.

The incident took place near Highway 72, just west of I-65, prompting police to respond to the scene. Investigators have determined that the pedestrian was traveling westbound on Highway 72 when Gray’s vehicle, which was moving in the opposite direction, struck the individual. After the collision, the vehicle continued east on Highway 72, leaving the scene without stopping to assist.

The pedestrian, who was injured in the incident, was promptly transported to Huntsville Hospital for medical attention. As of now, the individual is reported to be in stable condition and is awaiting surgery to address their injuries.
