Tennessee Counties Experience Positive Growth in July Employment Figures

Recent statistics released by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development indicate a positive trend in employment across various counties in Tennessee for the month of July. The findings reveal that 77 counties experienced a decrease in unemployment rates compared to June. Meanwhile, eight counties maintained their unemployment levels, and the remaining ten saw an increase in joblessness.

Notably, 82 out of the 95 counties in Tennessee reported unemployment rates below 5% during July. In contrast, the remaining 13 counties had rates that were at or exceeded the 5% threshold. Among these counties, Williamson County stood out with the lowest unemployment rate at an impressive 2.5%. Following closely were Lawrence County at 4.5%, while both Maury and Marshall Counties recorded rates of 4.9%. Additionally, Wayne and Giles Counties reported unemployment rates of 4.2%. This data underscores the ongoing improvements in the state’s employment landscape.
