Representative Lee Reeves, who hails from Franklin, submitted a joint resolution on September 16, advocating for the establishment of September 10, 2026, as “Charlie Kirk Day.” This resolution underscores Kirk’s significant contributions to the young conservative movement, portraying him as an exceptional speaker and debater.
Tragically, Kirk lost his life on September 10 during an open forum at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. He was the CEO and co-founder of Turning Point USA, an organization recognized for its efforts to engage young individuals in political discourse, irrespective of their ideological perspectives. The proposed resolution is set to be reviewed and voted on when the Tennessee General Assembly reconvenes on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
