Tennessee State Parks is calling upon residents to participate in the annual Weed Wrangle event scheduled for Saturday, March 1st. This initiative is part of a broader national campaign aimed at eradicating invasive species from public lands. All 42 state parks across Tennessee will take part in this important effort.
The Weed Wrangle is a joint initiative spearheaded by the Garden Club of Nashville in collaboration with the Garden Club of America. Its primary goal is to remove non-native invasive species and foster the development of healthy native ecosystems. Volunteers will receive guidance from Park Rangers, who will help them identify and eliminate invasive plants, including bush honeysuckle, Chinese privet, English ivy, and Multiflora Rose.
Several nearby parks that will be involved in this event include David Crockett Birthplace State Park, Tims Ford State Park, Henry Horton State Park, Natchez Trace State Park, and Pickwick Landing State Park, among others.
