The highly anticipated 2025 statewide muzzleloader and archery season for deer is set to commence on Saturday, November 8, and will run until Friday, November 21. This event will take place across all six Deer Management Units in Tennessee. According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), hunters are allowed a statewide bag limit of two antlered deer.
In the first three units—Units 1, 2, and 3—hunters have the opportunity to harvest up to three antlerless deer each day. Conversely, in Units 4, 5, and 6, the limit is set at two antlerless deer per day. It is important to note that these limits can be exceeded under specific circumstances, such as participation in the Earn-A-Buck program or if hunting in a county that has reported cases of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), where a replacement buck may be taken.
Following the muzzleloader and archery season, the statewide gun season will kick off on November 22 and extend through January 4. Additionally, there will be a second young sportsman deer hunt scheduled for January 10 and 11. To ensure compliance with regulations, hunters are strongly encouraged to consult the 2025–26 Tennessee Hunting and Trapping Guide. This comprehensive resource contains vital information regarding licenses, county-specific regulations, and bag limits. The guide can be accessed on the TWRA website, via the TWRA App, or at locations where hunting and fishing licenses are sold. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is dedicated to managing the state’s fish and wildlife resources while promoting safe and enjoyable outdoor activities.
