In an effort to aid residents of Southern Middle Tennessee who may have unclaimed funds, the Tennessee Department of Treasury’s Unclaimed Property Division will set up a booth at the SunDrop Festival in Pulaski on June 14, 2025. This initiative has proven beneficial in the past, with many Tennessee residents discovering hundreds or even thousands of dollars in unclaimed cash. The total amount of unclaimed property in Giles County and its six neighboring counties is nearly $15.4 million.
The breakdown of unclaimed funds by county is as follows: Giles County holds $1,629,931, Lawrence County has $2,094,957, Lewis County contains $536,397, Lincoln County features $2,253,547, Marshall County possesses $1,881,975, and Maury County tops the list with $7,072,856. Festival-goers are encouraged to visit the Unclaimed Property booth, where they can utilize the ClaimItTN.gov website to search for any missing money. Should they discover unclaimed property, they will have the opportunity to file a claim right at the booth. Representatives from the Division will be available to assist with any inquiries regarding the claims process from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on that Saturday at Pulaski Square.
Senator Joey Hensley, who represents Hohenwald and the surrounding area, expressed his gratitude to Treasurer Lillard for his commitment to helping constituents recover their lost funds. He emphasized the significance of the Unclaimed Property program, stating, “Unclaimed Property is a very important state program that’s working on behalf of Tennesseans to get their money back to them.”
Additionally, Representative Clay Doggett from Pulaski encouraged festival attendees to take advantage of this opportunity. He urged everyone to stop by the Unclaimed Property booth for a name search, highlighting the potential for individuals to leave with unexpected cash in their pockets. Doggett expressed pride in supporting Treasurer Lillard and his team in their mission to reconnect people with their unclaimed funds through this valuable program.
