Terry Lynn McCrary, 66, of Anderson, Alabama, passed away on October 3, 2025, at Athens Limestone Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lester, Alabama on October 11, 1958. Terry was a dedicated member of Powell Church of Christ and was known for his love for his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with them and cherished every moment. Terry was also passionate about farming and carpentry, having worked as a local carpenter for many years before retiring.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Malisa McCrary; sons, Ty McCrary (Casey), Jared McCrary (Malorie); daughters, Megan Baskins (Aaron) and Angela Carlton (Ross); brothers, Ricky McCrary (Bonnie), Rodney McCrary (Angie), and Buel Rose; sister, Catherine Roden (Bud); and grandchildren, Austin, Emma, Ann Makynlee, and Keller McCrary, Levi Baskins, Adelaide and Eleanor Carlton, Makenzie Harlan, Rylan Holt, and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Nadine McCrary; sister, Becky Rose; and nephews and niece, William Rose, Chris Roden, and Kristie McCrary.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 4-6 PM at Elkins East Chapel, with the funeral service taking place on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 11 AM at Elkins East Chapel, with Derril Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery in Anderson, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Austin McCrary, Blake Boston, Tyler Boston, Eric White, Aaron Baskins, and Ross Carlton, with the grandchildren serving as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to Athens Limestone Hospital ICU for the exceptional care Terry received over the past few weeks, as well as all the prayers from the community and friends.
