Thelma Louise “Susie” Adkins Wilkinson, age 88, of Summertown, TN passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, at her residence. She was a native of Carter County, KY, retired from Weather Tamer, Inc., and a member of the Barnesville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Dovie Messer Adkins; her husband, George A. Wilkinson; mother, Thelma Adkins; two daughters, Glenda Butler and Teresa Wilkinson; two grandsons, Billy Lovell III and Jeffery Wilkinson; daughter-in-law, Tracey Wilkinson; son-in-law, Billy Lovell II; two great-grandchildren, Emma Bennett and Carson Riddle; five brothers, Cecil Adkins, Willard Adkins, Ray Adkins, Leonard Adkins, and Junior Adkins; one sister, Elsie McGee; and brother-in-law, Dickie Willoughby.
She is survived by six children, Gary Wilkinson of Summertown, TN, C. Dean Wilkinson (Karen) of Summertown, TN, Pamela Rountree (Tony) of Summertown, TN, Connie Calton (Paul) of Summertown, TN, Georgia Riddle (Tommy) of Ethridge, TN, and Wendell Wilkinson of Summertown, TN; son-in-law, Doris Butler of Lawrenceburg, TN; one brother, W. F. Adkins (Linda); two sisters, Dianne Smith (Kenny) and Betsy Willoughby; twenty-five grandchildren; seventy-four great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Michael Bennett, Bobby Cooke, Allen Bolin, Hunter Ratliff, Dylan Riddle, Austin Kilburn, Briston Cooke, and Andrew Cummins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Compassus in Lawrenceburg, TN; her hospice nurses, Misty, Molly, and Ashton; and special caregivers, Michelle, Jessica, and Georgia.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Sunday, January 21, 2024, with Andy Long officiating. Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN.
