THP to Implement Sobriety Checkpoints in Lawrence and Bedford Counties

On Friday, September 12, 2025, the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) will implement sobriety checkpoints in both Lawrence and Bedford counties as part of their dedicated initiative to combat impaired driving and enhance safety on the roads. In Lawrence County, troopers will be positioned on U.S. Highway 43 South at mile marker 2.9, while in Bedford County, officers will set up near the Fish Hatchery on Huffman Road.

During these checkpoints, law enforcement personnel will be vigilant in identifying signs of impairment among drivers and ensuring that all traffic regulations are being adhered to. The THP emphasizes the importance of remaining vigilant, driving sober, and cooperating with officers at these checkpoints. This enforcement action is a crucial component of the agency’s broader statewide mission to safeguard lives and mitigate accidents linked to impaired driving.
