A tragic incident occurred on Saturday when a 37-year-old man from Arkansas lost his life while enjoying a day on the Tennessee River near Clifton. Reports from the Tennessee Highway Patrol indicate that the man was out on the water with friends when he was unexpectedly thrown from the boat into the river. His companions acted quickly, managing to retrieve him from the water and bring him back aboard the vessel. They then navigated to Clifton Marina, where emergency personnel were waiting to assist. Despite their efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the marina. This unfortunate event marks the 23rd boating-related death on Tennessee’s waterways this year, highlighting ongoing safety concerns in recreational boating.
