In the early hours of Tuesday, a tragic accident resulted in the death of a 17-year-old passenger from Tuscumbia. The incident unfolded when the vehicle, a 2007 Toyota Camry, lost control, veered off the roadway, and struck an embankment. Following the initial impact, the car overturned and collided with both a culvert and a utility pole. According to officials from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s highway patrol division, the young passenger was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, also 17 years old, sustained injuries and was subsequently airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Additionally, two other passengers, one aged 16 and another 17, were injured in the incident and were transported to local hospitals for medical care.
