On Sunday afternoon, a tragic vehicle accident in Lawrence County resulted in one fatality and left several others injured. The collision occurred just before 4:00 PM on Highway 43, near the intersection with Purcell Lane in Leoma. Emergency responders pronounced one individual dead at the scene of the crash. In addition to the fatality, at least three other people sustained serious injuries and were subsequently transported to hospitals in Nashville for urgent medical care.
A coordinated response was initiated by multiple agencies, including the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Leoma Fire Department, Lawrence County EMS, Air Evac 110, the Lawrenceburg/Lawrence County Emergency Management Agency, and the Lawrenceburg Police Department, all of whom were among the first to arrive at the scene. The Tennessee Highway Patrol has confirmed that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway.
