Tragic House Fire Claims Lives of Father and Son in Limestone County

A tragic house fire in Limestone County has resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left three others injured, as reported by WAAY 31. The incident occurred early Thursday morning, with fire crews receiving the emergency call at 12:19 a.m. The blaze erupted in a residence located off Alabama Highway 251, where a 27-year-old man and his 7-year-old son were trapped inside.

At the time of the fire, five people were present in the home. Fortunately, a mother along with her child and an infant managed to escape with only minor injuries and were subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. Despite the efforts of emergency responders who attempted to perform life-saving measures, both the man and his son were pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition to the fatalities, one firefighter sustained injuries during the operation and was also taken to the hospital, although he is expected to make a full recovery and be released soon. Authorities from the State Fire Marshal’s Office, along with local officials in Limestone County, are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. The residence where the fire occurred has been deemed a total loss, and nearby homes also suffered damage as a result of the incident.
