Yesterday, at around 2:40 PM, Maury County Fire and Rescue swiftly responded to a distress call regarding a house fire on Mack Benderman Road. Upon reaching the scene, the emergency units were met with a devastating sight – a double-wide mobile home engulfed in flames, with approximately 90% of the structure already consumed by the fire and partially collapsed.
In a race against time, firefighters initiated a thorough search and rescue operation by creating a vent entry through a window of the sole bedroom that had not been affected by the raging inferno. Their primary concern was to locate the elderly homeowners who resided in the house. Fortunately, one dog was successfully rescued and safely removed from the premises.
Tragically, despite the valiant efforts of the rescue team, several other dogs trapped inside the burning home did not survive the ordeal. It was revealed that the homeowners were not present on the property when the fire broke out, sparing them from harm but leaving them to return to a devastating loss of their beloved pets and property.
