In a recent social media update, 22nd Judicial District Attorney Brent Cooper shared significant developments from two trials involving violent offenders. On Wednesday, a Maury County jury delivered a verdict of guilt against Cameron Cunningham on charges including aggravated child abuse, neglect, endangerment, and facilitation of abuse. The case stemmed from Cunningham’s 4-month-old child sustaining 16 bone fractures, including femurs and ribs. Cunningham is currently in custody awaiting sentencing.
Similarly, on the same day, a Wayne County jury found John Rich guilty of first-degree felony murder, second-degree murder, and aggravated rape. The charges against Rich revolved around his actions of administering a lethal dose of methamphetamine to Brentlyn Hunt and sexually assaulting her multiple times as she succumbed to the overdose. Rich, too, is in custody awaiting sentencing for his crimes.
