Florence police apprehended both a minor and an adult on allegations of car break-ins at the Redfern Apartments. The incident unfolded on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, when officers were dispatched to the Redfern Apartments located on Helton Drive following reports of two individuals attempting to gain access to vehicles parked in the lot. Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials identified two men matching the descriptions provided by witnesses.
Investigations revealed that the suspects had not only attempted to enter multiple cars but had successfully broken into at least one vehicle. The individuals taken into custody were identified as a 16-year-old boy and Dalton Noahallen Brawley, a 21-year-old resident of Nauvoo. Both face serious charges, including three counts of attempted unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle, along with one count of unlawful breaking and entering.
Currently, Dalton Brawley is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a bond set at $10,000, while the minor is detained at the Tennessee Valley Juvenile Detention Center. In light of this incident, the Florence Police Department urges residents to secure their vehicles and refrain from leaving valuables inside unattended cars to reduce the risk of becoming victims of such crimes.
