Two Teens from Giles County Face Charges in Ongoing Sexual Exploitation Case

Authorities in Giles County have charged two teenagers in connection with a sexual exploitation case that is currently being examined by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI). The inquiry was initiated in November 2024, following a request from Brent Cooper, the District Attorney General for the 22nd Judicial District, after a concerning photograph of a local teenager surfaced on social media platforms.

Investigators from the TBI discovered that the image in question had been shared among classmates, originating from another student. Compounding the situation, one of the teenagers reportedly sent a direct message to the victim that included a threat of harm, raising the stakes of the investigation significantly.

As a result of the findings, one of the teenagers has been charged with several offenses, including the illegal use of a telecommunications device, unlawful dissemination of photography, and harassment. The second teenager is facing charges for the illegal use of a telecommunications device and unlawful dissemination of photography as well.

The investigation is still active, with authorities continuing to gather information and assess the situation.
