UNA Marching Band Surpasses Fundraising Target

The Marching Pride of the University of North Alabama has successfully exceeded its ambitious fundraising target of $100,000, aimed at facilitating their participation in the prestigious Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2025. An announcement on the organization’s corporate website revealed that the fundraising campaign, spearheaded by the honorary band sorority Tau Beta Sigma in collaboration with Vertical Raise, has concluded with an impressive total of $103,031. This achievement is a significant boost for the band as they work to cover the estimated $400,000 in travel expenses associated with the parade, as noted by Band Director Lloyd Jones.

In October, Jones shared the exciting news with the 265-member band that they had been selected to perform in the iconic parade. Each year, only twelve bands are featured, which includes well-known groups such as the NYPD Pipes and Drums and the Macy’s Great American Marching Band, leaving just ten slots available for other bands. This makes the UNA Marching Band’s selection a remarkable honor. Congratulations are in order for the UNA Marching Band on this outstanding accomplishment!
