On Wednesday, the University of Tennessee Southern received a significant grant from the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) in collaboration with First-Gen Forward. This funding is aimed at enhancing the university’s dedication to supporting first-generation college students, acknowledging their unique challenges and celebrating their accomplishments.
As part of this initiative, the university plans to honor these students during the upcoming 2024 First-Generation College Celebration, which is scheduled for November 8. This event will serve as a platform to recognize the hard work and determination of first-generation students, highlighting their contributions to the academic community.
