Upcoming Friday Meeting at the Rotary Club to Discuss Elephant Sanctuary

During a recent meeting at the Lawrenceburg Rotary Club, Todd Montgomery from the Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald delivered a comprehensive presentation. Montgomery, who has been part of the sanctuary since 2013, is responsible for managing the sanctuary’s volunteer programs, internships, community partnerships, and outreach efforts.

The Elephant Sanctuary serves as a haven for retired zoo and circus elephants, offering them personalized care, the companionship of a herd, and a secure environment to spend their remaining years. In addition to providing sanctuary for these majestic creatures, the organization also focuses on educating the public about the intricate needs of elephants and the challenges they face in the wild.

Currently, the sanctuary is home to twelve elephants, each with its own unique story and background. For those interested in learning more about the Elephant Sanctuary and its mission, visit their website at elephants.com.
